秘鲁普诺海岸外是乌鲁斯群岛，它是由生长在“的的喀喀湖”（Lago Titicaca）的托托拉芦苇（totora reeds）形成的浮动岛屿。通过使用托托拉芦苇，乌鲁斯人创造了从房子到船到瞭望塔的一切东西。因此，《UROS HOUSE》体现了海洋泡沫的美丽，同时保持了乌鲁斯人岛屿房屋的传统技术和形状。

我的雕塑被安装在达菲广场的一个固定结构上，名为《UROS HOUSE》（乌鲁斯之家）。因此，这个结构似乎从地面升起，好像它与地球是一体的。

ARTIST STATEMENT (English)

Off the coast of Puno, Peru are the Uros Islands, floating islands created with totora reeds grown in Lake Titicaca. Through using Totora reeds, the Uros people create everything from houses to boats to watch towers. Thus the Uros House embodies the beauty of the sea foam, while maintaining the traditional technique and shape of the Uros islands houses.

My sculpture is mounted to a secured structure on Duffy Square, titled “The Uros House”. Therefore, the structure will seemingly arise from the ground as if it were one with the earth.

Description: The Armory Show, Times Square Alliance, and Nina Menocal Gallery present Uros House, a lighting sculpture by Grimanesa Amorós, during the Armory Arts Week in New York City’s Times Square.

The exhibition of large-scale work by Amorós is possible with the support of the Rockefeller Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
