Yuri Suzuki’s first solo retrospective exhibition ‘Sound in Mind’ opened at the Design Museum, London in September 2019. Part of the 2019 London Design Festival programme, projects on show include OTOTO, Colour Chaser, Tube Map Radio and Amateur Music.
The sound-based projects all share a common theme, exploring how we navigate and connect to the surrounding world through sound, and how new technologies can be made more relatable through novel implementations of sound design. The interactive installations, listening tubes and sound-absorbing boxes invite visitors to create their own unique sonic experience.
A newsprint publication accompanies the exhibition, and to coincide with the opening, Yuri and a group of musicians, artists and designers took over the Design Museum atrium for an inspiring evening of DJ sets, workshops and live performances.
