Omega Mart is the new immersive art experience by Meow Wolf in Las Vegas, Nevada. Visitors explore a supermarket where they find portals to surreal worlds and unexpected landscapes. Cocolab took part of this extravagant installation with Projected Desert, a desert artificial canyon where psychedelic journeys become a reality.

The undulating canyon walls are 11 meters tall inside a 400 square meters area. Cocolab collaborated with the animation of the content, as well as with the technological developments to project on this irregular surface. Our team created a show control system that can play the content through 16 laser projectors and also calibrates the animations to achieve a seamless projection in such a way that the areas where the projectors blend are not perceptible. The audiovisual content was created by well-known psychedelic artists to produce a journey of consciousness all while in synchrony with a score created by Brian Eno. The challenge of transforming two-dimensional pictorial art into the living skin of this space was both artistic and technological.

With Omega Mart, the extraordinary city of Las Vegas gains a new attraction that surpasses anything seen before in the city. A place to experience art in a new way.
