Reflexions is an ongoing project. A process of observation and experimentation.
The Professional Association of Lighting Designers (APDI) proposed an ideas contest among its associates for the Luz Madrid festival. A prestigious jury, external to APDI itself, has selected this piece by Antoni Arola as the winning work.
Reflexions takes as its starting point the reflection that light makes on polished surfaces, on mirrors. It is a game, a relationship between the light source and the projection of its own reflection. Arola gives the reflexes movement, with their own and random life, so that they have a cadence and a tempo that accompany the viewer.
Reflexions is an ongoing project, a mutant piece that adapts to each context with flexibility and fluidity. Barcelona, Shanghai, Mexico and now Madrid are its global destinations so far.
Reflexions.4 Alcalá, conceptualized for a wide audience, with very different interests and realities, evolves and incorporates three gigantic Reflexions Color, 10m high projections generated by laser projectors. These are directed on gauze allowing them to be observed from both sides of the monument.
