The main idea of this project is simple and surprising. It consists of a 70 metre circle of natural grass (3,500 square meters in total) located in the centre of the Plaza Mayor (Madrid) commemorating its 4th centenary.

Given the simplicity of such a project, both residents of Madrid and tourists were immediately surprised by the decontextualisation of the square and the invitation to new ways of feeling pleasantly and comfortably embraced.

Over 200,000 people enjoyed this artistic offer, over 4 days, which was also echoed by leading national and international media with thousands of hits. .

This artistic work for citizens and tourists of all ages, who were invited to take part in it in a playful and direct manner, creating a milestone, an unforgettable memory and a temporary transformation of this symbol of Madrid’s culture on its 400th centenary.

The revitalisation of this public space aims to involve pedestrians in their own city. This type of artistic work invites citizens to become artists and vice-versa. In other words, it openly shares art for the benefit of all.
