《LIKE ME》

It’s been proven that we’re increasingly addicted to social media in that our brain rewards us by releasing dopamine, an internal feel-good substance, whenever we get notifications and updates.

Like Me is a series of glass head sculptures filled with a liquid that reacts to online social media engagement. Visitors can 'like' the artwork on their dedicated Facebook pages and they react within seconds.

The Like Me series was premiered at Nordart 2019 which took place between June and October, attracting over 100,000 visitors. The artwork received a total of 5000 likes during this period. The artwork was featured in German TV and press.

The inside of the sculpture is made up by mica-powder and water, which creates a rheoscopic fluid, which is agitated by a magnetic stirrer powered by a small motor positioned in the base of the sculpture.

Visitors can interact with the sculptures by liking them on Facebook. They can find their Facebook pages by searching for them, ie Like Me Blue, or using a QR code positioned next to the artwork description.
