VOUW(发音:vow)是一家位于阿姆斯特丹的设计工作室，致力于设计与技术的交叉。youw由Mingus Vogel和Justus Bruns于2017年创立，他们相信技术不仅仅是提高效率和生产力的手段，是慢科技的先驱:设计让人们慢下来，让他们在现实世界中聚集在一起。

VOUW (pronounced: vow) is an Amsterdam-based design studio working at the crossroads of design and technology. Founded in 2017 by Mingus Vogel and Justus Bruns based on the belief that technology is not solely a means of efficiency and productivity， VOUW is a pioneer in slowtech: design that slows people down to bring them together in the real world.

VOUW’s work revolves around the exploration of how people can live with technology in a positive way. The studio believes that while technology can help us gain insights faster, it cannot change what makes us human and happy. Slowtech is about creating technology that emphasizes patience, fosters humanity, and promotes real-world connections.

Their works include City Gazing, an outdoor public artwork that shows the impact of technology on our cities by showcasing their light footprint, Bloomlight, an interactive street lighting that greets people and only shines light when needed, and Chairwave, a row of chairs that enables people to only sit next to each other.

VOUW is committed to making their work accessible to everyone and, as such, creates pieces for the public space. The public space is seen as the last frontier where people can meet and be themselves. Their works have been installed in cities worldwide, including Milan, Beijing, Dubai, Singapore, and Sydney. Recent permanent installations include City Gazing in Taiwan and Bloomlights in Qatar.

All of VOUWs work is imagined, designed, and produced in-house. The studio believes that having control over the whole process is key to creating the best products when working on the limits of design and engineering.

Justus and Mingus work together closely in the open space of their former shipyard studio in Amsterdam Noord to come up with new ideas for VOUW. While Justus primarily oversees the business side of the studio, and Mingus focuses on product design, they work creatively and collaboratively to realize their shared vision of a slowtech future.

VOUWs works have won several awards, such as the Archiproducts Award 2022, LIT Design Awards, and GOOD design award. The Chairwave has been recognised as the best social design of Dutch Design Week, Fast Company named the Bloomlight as best of Urban Design of 2021, Hackaday said the Bloomlight is ‘the future we want to live in’.
